Baby teeth are as much as important permanent teeth. Indeed, baby teeth are essential to your child to speak and chew. Moreover, they have underneath the germ of permanent teeth. A cavity on a baby tooth is growing fasterthan on an adult tooth because the enamel is more vulnerable and we can have quickly an infection that can reach the germ of the permanent tooth underneath. Finally, baby teeth preserve the essential space needed for permanent teeth!
Flossing is not essential
Flossing allows you to clean in between your teeth where your tooth brush can’t go. Around a third of your teeth is not reachable by your toothbrush! If you are still unwilling to do it, you can use interdental brushes
Teeth whitening is harmful to your teeth
Nowadays, bleaching product has a reduced concentration since around 10 years in Europe. Those products cause then less side effects. Whitening can produce for example gum irritations that can be avoided by applying less amount of product. Moreover, you can have sensitivity that disapear or can be reduced by specific products.
Dentist is painfull!!
It’s a well-established myth! 29% of French people do not go to the dentist for fear! Now, anesthesia is very effective and all procedures can be done without pain. Many methods and products exist to avoid discomfort as much as a small cream that puts the gum to sleep and prevents you from feeling the needle!
It’s not important to replace a missing tooth
When all your teeth are in your mouth in place, there is a balance. The loss of a tooth can creates mouvements of the teeth around, joint problem, gum inflammations, food traps or even a reduction of the masticatory efficiency.
